With that said, certain eligibility requirements must be met. The vehicle must:

• Be for your own use and not for resale
• For use mainly in the United States
• Have an external charging source
• Have a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 14,000 pounds
• Be made by an automaker that hasn’t sold more than 200,000 electric vehicles in the U.S. 
• Have had its final assembly performed in North America (only applies to EVs bought on August 17, 2022, or later)

Buyers must not earn more than these amounts to take advantage of a new Porsche EV tax credit:

• $300,000 for married couples filing jointly or a surviving spouse
• $225,000 for heads of households
• $150,000 for all other filers
